CAPRI Scholarship

The CAPRI Scholarship Program awards funding to eligible applicants towards training in technical certifications or specialized job skills.

Eligibility Requirements and Application Process

Scholarships of up to $2500 will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible applicants.

The Applicant

  • Must be a resident of Albany, NY.
  • Must be pursuing a licensing program or a professional/technical certification that will lead directly to full-time employment.
  • Must be sponsored/referred by a non-profit organization.
  • Must attach to the application a recommendation letter from whomever is sponsoring/referring the applicant to the program.

The applicant may be a current high school senior or an adult.  

Those who have been formerly incarcerated are also encouraged to apply.

Sponsoring/Referral Agency

  • Referral agencies will assist with the completion and submission of the application, including a letter of recommendation.

*If the applicant is selected to receive a scholarship, the referral agency will also be required to complete:

  • A two-week progress report.
  • A final report upon the applicant's completion of the program.

Advanced Manufacturing Technology (Machinist);
Electrician;
Welding;
Natural Gas Technician;
Emergency Medical Technician;
Massage Therapy;
Aesthetics/Cosmetology/Barbering;

Heating/Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Technical Services (HVAC);
Mortuary Science;
Nursing;
Health Sciences;
Commercial Driver License (CDL)
